DC BLOX Expands Relationship with FNT Software to Track and Manage Fiber at State-of-the-Art Cable Landing Station

FNT Enables DC BLOX to Improve Network Resiliency and Efficiency Through its Data Center and Telco Management Solutions

New York, NY (August 8, 2024) – FNT Software, a leading provider of software solutions for the integrated management of IT, data center, and telecommunication infrastructures worldwide, today announced that it has been selected by DC BLOX, a provider of multi-tenant data centers, dark fiber, and connectivity solutions, to manage and track fiber at its state-of-the art cable landing station (CLS) in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

With design capacity at full build-out of 125,000 sq. ft. and 19 MW of power, the new CLS can host up to five subsea cables and colocation space for network and cable operators, communications providers, local enterprises, and partners. Additionally, DC BLOX built a fiber route from their Myrtle Beach cable landing station to Atlanta’s communications hub, the first direct east-to-west route enabling high-capacity direct access to hundreds of communications providers. To efficiently map this fiber route and significantly simplify the management of their infrastructure, DC BLOX has implemented FNT‘s GeoMaps solution powered by geospatial intelligence.

“We’re proud to expand our relationship with DC BLOX as they deliver connectivity to power today’s digital business,” said Steve MacDiarmid, Executive Managing Director of FNT Americas. “Our GeoMaps solution combines location intelligence with network infrastructure details, enabling DC BLOX to make more-informed decisions about network capacity, resiliency and efficiency.”

“It’s critical that we have a solution that scales with us. After evaluating several third-party solutions, DC BLOX determined FNT GeoMaps was the ideal choice in terms of features, functionality, and scalability,” Mark Sprouse, Chief Information Officer at DC BLOX. “FNT’s solutions enable us to manage every aspect of our operations, IT, network, services, and customers.”

By combining FNT’s Telco Management solution with Esri’s geospatial tools, FNT GeoMaps offers DC BLOX complete transparency into their passive network infrastructure, both inside buildings and between buildings and facilities. To maintain reliable services to DC BLOX’s customers worldwide, FNT GeoMaps monitors dedicated circuits, dedicated internet access, and redundancies. With greater visibility through FNT GeoMaps, DC BLOX can quickly determine which customers will potentially be affected during maintenance or in the event of an outage.

Additionally, DC BLOX also utilizes FNT’s centralized solution for data center infrastructure management, FNT Command. FNT Command provides the capability to streamline processes and optimize the utilization of data center assets, including building infrastructure (power, cooling, floorspace), IT infrastructure (networks, servers, storage), connectivity (cables, patches), and services (software, applications).

In the near future, DC BLOX also plans to integrate its ticketing and accounting systems into FNT’s platform.
