FNT Software Optimizes Infrastructure Management and Sustainability through New FNT Command 14 Platform
FNT Command 14 Includes Innovative Features and Functionality to Enhance Telco Operations, Cable and Outside Plant Management, and Inventory and Warehouse Management Upgrades
New York, New York (August 1, 2024) – FNT Software, a leading provider of software solutions for the integrated management of IT, data center, and telecommunication infrastructures worldwide, today announced the release of FNT Command 14, the latest Long-Term-Release featuring sustainability enhancements, customer-requested improvements, and refined usability features. This update elevates the management of complex IT, data center, and network infrastructures to new heights of efficiency and control.
User interface and application
FNT Command 14 offers a range of usability improvements, including a dynamic new UI for editable configuration data that simplifies the editing process. The customizable templates allow users to align templates to their preferences, enabling more parameters of attributes to be changed and static attributes to be relocated for a better overall user experience. Additionally, all attributes can now be moved and organized according to users' needs, enhancing flexibility in attribute management.
FNT Sustainability: Document, analyze and track your IT´s CO2 footprint
FNT Command 14 also introduces a powerful new solution to improve sustainability and decarbonize operations. FNT Sustainability documents, tracks, and reports on Scope 3 Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions and other environmental factors using the new EPD Matrix, compliant with ISO 14025 norms. A preconfigured analytics dashboard provides actionable insights, supporting greener operations and regulatory compliance, and demonstrating eligibility for financial incentives.
“We’re proud to release FNT Command 14 and help organizations achieve more efficient, greener IT, data center and network infrastructure operations,” said Carsten Wreth, Chief Executive Officer of FNT GmbH. “In addition to enhancing infrastructure management, the latest version of FNT Command enables organizations to remain compliant with ESG/CSR legislations, reduce OpEx, and become eligible for tax exemption programs.”
FNT Sustainability is already undergoing field trials at Volkswagen. A pre-release beta version is proving to be instrumental in helping with Scope 3 CO2 value documentation for thousands of servers in their extensive and complex IT and data center infrastructure landscape.
Management of network and service resources in the telecommunications environment
To improve telco operations, FNT Command 14 provides advanced network planning capabilities that allow the movement of bearers and start/end points of unrouted paths directly in Planning mode, streamlining network transformation. IP-based services can now be linked to logical ports for more precise network resource management. Improved search options enable filtering for devices with matching service types during bearer, unrouted path, or trail creation, facilitating enhanced device search during service configurations. Further, connected service report enhancements allow quick access to reports from various entities, including objects, devices, zones, cables, services, and ports.
Inventory and warehouse management
In inventory and warehouse management, hierarchical warehouse structures now allow for the division of warehouses into substructures with assigned devices for better organization. Stock threshold management enables setting minimum stock levels for both entire warehouses and specific substructures, ensuring efficient inventory control.
Work order management
Work order management has been streamlined with closer integration between the Command-ProcessCenter and Command objects, significantly increasing performance. Configurable template selection in work orders simplifies the interface and speeds up operations. Additionally, the improved interaction between Command objects and requests allows for direct initiation of workflows from Objects, enhancing the connection between the functional domain and workflow execution.
Cable and outside plant management
Cable and outside plant management advances include a new autorouting approach that provides quicker access to relevant information with different views for duct and cable routes. The ability to assign multiple couplers per node offers enhanced flexibility, while upgraded junction boxes allow for the connection of uncut fibers and new export options with standardized formats for splice plans. Enhanced signal tracing improves usability by displaying sub-modules and setting the display to required views.
FNT GeoMaps
FNT GeoMaps feature improvements include state-of-the-art multi-duct management, allowing users to manage fiber with multi-ducts and choose between regular ducts or multi-ducts using the “open with” functionality. Bookmarking saves selections and stores them as bookmarks, eliminating the need to switch between Command and GeoMaps.
ReconEngine & BGE additions
Technical enhancements for robust performance include new BGE additions for Telco, Signal Management, and Service Asset Management. Business Gateway Entities (BGEs) provide a stable layer for communication between the FNT Command repository and external systems in order to simplify the integration in existing system landscapes. The ReconEngine upgrades offer more configuration options and significant enhancements in handling cable and tray management entities.
